womxn4volleyball

The platform that connects us

THIS IS WHY

Scarcity

The German Volleyball Bundesliga has only 4.8% womxn head coaches and 15.2% womxn assistant coaches.

Exits

The majority of womxn athletes exit the sport after playing without finding other ways to stay involved.

Abuse

Male leader emotional, verbal, financial, and sexual abuse is normalized over all levels of play.

Disconnect

There is a missing link between male leadership styles and an all-womxn athlete population.

Visibility

We voice our stories and experiences on a collaborative digital platform in order to support each other.

Mentorship

We connect current leaders and experts with future leaders to transmit and transform knowledge.

Opportunities

We provide learning opportunities for womxn in volleyball, share job openings, and continue to educate womxn leaders for volleyball.

THIS IS HOW

We support each other! Through a clear focus on mentorship, sharing our stories, and creating opportunities to learn and strive together, we can inspire more Womxn 4 Volleyball.

CORE VALUES

Authenticity

x

Community

The narrative of scarcity tells us: „There’s only space for a few of us at the top!“ „We have to show male qualities in order to be great leaders.“ „We can only be our best if we step on and over each other!“

Secure womxnhood declares the reality of individuality in community: „There are enough leadership roles for all of us to be our best.“ „We are stronger together.“ „We win by supporting each other.“ „We can bring our authentic selves to the table.“

The journey from youth player to adult player to supporting roles on a team and in a club to leadership roles includes a lot of opportunities to gain knowledge and expertise in volleyball. As we go on this journey, we experience joy, we learn our craft and we understand the physical, mental, emotional, and social demands of the game.

We might even develop a deeper understanding of how teams work and what clubs need in order to thrive. All these experiences combined are a great starting point for future leaders to give back to the sport.
